The house across the street, only 129 square feet larger and 35 years newer, RECENTLY SOLD FOR $205,000 in less than a week! That is $158 per square foot and, extrapolating to the square footage of our 1,165 sq ft house, we should be listing at $184,279 ... nearly $40,000 more than the current price.

This quaint, mid-1800s home has been completely updated while maintaining its original details and charm. Perfect for a small family or students who want to walk to downtown with its numerous restaurants and bars or to KU, just a short 10-15 minute walk away. Old East Lawrence is the centerpiece of the city's exciting new Arts District, having a historic and eclectic feel with many new businesses moving in and 19th Century homes being renovated.

This charming 1860s two-story home with front and side porches is just a short walk from downtown (Massachusetts Street) and 10-15 minute walk to University of Kansas (KU) campus.

Beautiful cherry cabinets in kitchen with butcher-block counter tops, large, open living room, laundry room, and large bedroom on main level - built in 1860s. Two bedrooms and bath on second level - added in 1900. Bathroom has original clawfoot tub and shower, having been completely remodeled in 2015.
Original fieldstone foundation was renovated in 2015. New energy saving furnace and air conditioner as well as ductwork installed throughout the home in 2013. Recently painted inside and out. Hardwood floors in stairwell, landing, and all of second floor renovated in 2014. New $5000 sump system installed in 2014. Plumbing and electrical recently updated.

Large yard on three sides has pond in the back, all recently having been completely reseeded. Several large trees provide plenty of shade, reducing energy consumption and large rear patio coverage in summer.

This "Queen Anne" Victorian is located in historic Old East Lawrence, just 3 blocks from downtown Lawrence (restaurants, bars, nightclubs, theatres, shopping), short walking distance to the University of Kansas campus, and in the center of Lawrence's new and flourishing Arts District.

Built in the 1860's, this may be one of the few wooden structures that survived the torches of Quantrill's raid on August 21, 1863. With three bedrooms and one bath, a large yard with pond, and off street parking, this 2-story home is in excellent condition and ready to move in.

I asked them for a quote for a move from Lawrence, Kansas to Vancouver, Washington, giving them ample detail about our move. Their customer service rep, Allen Collins, wrote back, telling me that I had to fill out their inventory form which took me over 30 minutes, going room by room and piece by piece of furniture even though I had sent him a detailed spreadsheet with the same exact data:
"Hello, I received your online inquiry for an estimate for your upcoming move and I wanted to get a little more information from you to get started on your estimate.  Please complete the inventory checklist we sent you, as it will help us to create the most accurate estimate for your move.  You can also call me directly and we can put together your estimate over the phone.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Our office number is 913-341-6683. We will be open until 7p.m. today. Thank you again for choosing TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and I hope you have a great day!"
A little while later, the same day, Allen wrote back to me stating:

"Hey, Thank you for your request for rates on your upcoming move. Unfortunately, the area you are moving to is outside our local service area. I will be glad to estimate our professional packing service or we offer boxes and all packing supplies if you are packing on your on. Thank you for considering Two Men and a Truck for your moving services."
This will tell you all you need to know about this company. Here is the reponse I got after directing him to this and my Yelp reviews:

"HEY" (a very professional greeting) Allen, thanks for wasting my time by asking me to fill out a long move survey only to tell me that you don't even service the area I told you we were moving to several hours earlier.
